Asiana Fund, JC Capital Launch ₹1,000 Cr Fund for Deeptech Startups
Asiana Fund and Taiwan-based JC Capital have launched a ₹1,000 crore (approx. $120 million) fund to back deeptech startups in India. The fund will focus on advanced manufacturing, robotics, and semiconductors.

Asiana Fund, an investment platform from the Dani Family Office, and Taiwan-based venture capital firm JC Capital have launched a ₹1,000 crore (approximately $120 million) fund dedicated to supporting deeptech startups. The Asiana-JCC Advanced Manufacturing & Innovation Fund comprises an initial corpus of ₹600 crore with a greenshoe option to increase it by ₹400 crore.
The fund's investment strategy will target Series A and Series B startups operating in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, robotics, semiconductors, materials, sustainability, aerospace, and defence. The aim is to build a portfolio of 12 to 15 companies, with a portion of the capital reserved for follow-on investments.
Key areas of interest for initial investments include compound semiconductors, motion-control systems for EVs and robotics, secure silicon, smart grids, and robotic vision. Beyond capital, the fund intends to foster collaboration between Indian startups and Taiwan's technology ecosystem, facilitating technology transfers and global supply chain access.
The partnership leverages Asiana Fund's experience in India's industrial and tech sectors alongside JC Capital's network within Taiwan's semiconductor and electronics industry. This initiative aligns with India's broader goals to boost domestic semiconductor and electronics manufacturing capabilities through government programs like the India Semiconductor Mission.
