askelie launches AI platform to simplify complex documents
askelie has launched askVERA, a new AI service designed to make complex documents more understandable. The platform offers both consumer and business versions with "Plain English" and "Easy Read" capabilities.

London-based AI company askelie has introduced askVERA, an AI-powered service aimed at helping individuals and organizations comprehend complex documents and communications. The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to rephrase dense or technical text into clear, everyday language.
askVERA is available in two versions: a consumer offering for individuals needing to understand contracts, letters, or official correspondence, and a business version for organizations seeking to enhance the accessibility of their own documents and communications. Both versions incorporate askELIE's "Plain English" and "Easy Read" features.
The "Plain English" function rewrites complex text into straightforward language, while "Easy Read" presents information using short sentences and a simplified structure, aligning with established accessibility standards. These capabilities aim to remove comprehension barriers for those who find legal, financial, or technical jargon difficult, including individuals with learning disabilities or limited literacy.
"We built askVERA because too many people are left confused or excluded by documents that should be straightforward," said Derek Kilroe, Chairman of askelie. "Whether you're an individual trying to make sense of a letter from your landlord, or a business that wants its policies to actually be read and understood, askVERA gives you that clarity in seconds."
The service has already been used in trials with organizations such as Cornwall Council to improve document clarity. askVERA is now available online via subscription. askelie operates on its ELIE (Ever Learning Intelligent Engine) AI platform.
