Chip equipment maker ASML announced its second-quarter earnings, with net sales of €9.3 billion and net profit of €2.9 billion, exceeding its own guidance.

Chip equipment manufacturer ASML reported its second-quarter financial results, surpassing company expectations. ASML posted net sales of €9.33 billion and a gross profit margin of 54.0%. The company's net profit for the quarter was €2.92 billion.
Total net sales reached €9.33 billion, an increase from €8.77 billion in the first quarter. This included the shipment of 86 new lithography systems and 5 pre-owned systems, compared to 67 new and 12 pre-owned systems in the previous period. Sales from installed base logic and field upgrades were €2.76 billion, up from €2.49 billion in the first quarter.
ASML also announced that Intel has begun mass production using High-NA EUV lithography technology on its Intel 18A process node. The collaboration between ASML and Intel on the Core Ultra Series 3 processors marks Intel as the first global logic chip manufacturer to achieve high-volume output with High-NA EUV. This indicates the technology's advancement for future chip manufacturing processes.
Reflecting the strong performance and market demand, ASML significantly raised its full-year 2026 outlook. The company now anticipates total net sales for 2026 to be between €43 billion and €45 billion, with a gross margin of 54% to 56%. For the third quarter of 2026, ASML projects net sales between €11 billion and €12 billion, and a gross margin of approximately 55% to 57%.
CEO Christophe Fouquet stated that investments linked to artificial intelligence and continued technological advancements are driving demand for advanced logic and memory chips. Consequently, customers are accelerating their capacity expansion plans. ASML plans to increase its Low-NA EUV production capacity by 30% from approximately 65 systems in 2026 to 2027, with further consideration for a 30% increase in 2028. Deep Ultraviolet immersion lithography capacity is also projected to grow similarly.
