Aspo Plc has published its comparative IFRS data for the consolidated fiscal year 2004. These figures represent the first financial statements prepared by the company in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Aspo will officially adopt IFRS for its financial reporting beginning with the 2005 fiscal year.
The adoption of IFRS will impact Aspo's balance sheet and equity through several key areas. These include adjustments related to employee benefits, market valuations of shares, leasing agreements, and the amortization of goodwill. The company has presented an opening IFRS balance sheet as of the transition date, January 1, 2004, along with a reconciliation of its shareholders' equity.
Comparative IFRS data is provided for the consolidated income statement and balance sheet for fiscal year 2004, as well as for the first quarter of 2004. All IAS and IFRS standards approved as of the disclosure date have been considered in the preparation of this comparative data. Aspo intends to prepare its interim reports for 2005 in accordance with IFRS recognition and measurement principles.
