ASSA ABLOY acquires French company Evolis
Locking and security solutions provider ASSA ABLOY has acquired a majority stake in French company Evolis SA. The transaction strengthens ASSA ABLOY's position in the secure card printing market.
ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions, announced in September 2023 the acquisition of a 98.5 percent majority stake in France-based Evolis SA. The acquisition was completed through ASSA ABLOY's subsidiary, HID Global SAS.
Evolis is a globally recognized provider of secure plastic card printing solutions, used for identity cards, access cards, and payment cards, among other applications. This acquisition significantly enhances ASSA ABLOY's presence in the identity management and card personalization sector.
The company had initially announced its intention to acquire Evolis in July 2023. The integration is expected to complement ASSA ABLOY's existing offerings and expand its customer base, particularly within the corporate segment.
ASSA ABLOY stated that the integration of Evolis into HID Global's business unit is anticipated to yield synergistic benefits, enabling the development of new and enhanced secure identification solutions. This move aligns with ASSA ABLOY's broader strategy of expanding its global reach in the security market through strategic acquisitions.
