ASSA ABLOY installs digital locking system at Dresden's Frauenkirche

ASSA ABLOY, a provider of security solutions, has implemented its eCLIQ digital locking system and IKON smart keys at the Frauenkirche in Dresden, Germany. The landmark baroque architecture site, significant for its cultural and spiritual importance, attracts over two million visitors annually.

The installation focused on enhancing security with modern access control while preserving the building's architectural integrity. The Frauenkirche, originally built in the 11th century, was destroyed in World War II and meticulously reconstructed in the early 2000s.

The electronic system allows for programming and updating access rights as needed, streamlining key management across various user groups. Lost keys can be quickly deactivated, reducing security risks without necessitating physical alterations to the historic structure. The solution was implemented in collaboration with the church's security partner.
