ASSA ABLOY has agreed to sell its HID PKI business unit to private equity firm Vista Equity Partners. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026.
ASSA ABLOY has announced an agreement to sell its Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) business unit, part of its HID division, to the private equity firm Vista Equity Partners.
The PKI business unit provides solutions for digital trust, identity authentication, encryption, and certificate management. Its offerings include PKI SaaS services under IdenTrust, the HydrantID credential management system, and ZeroSSL encryption.
The divested unit generated sales of $58 million in 2025 with a strong operating margin. ASSA ABLOY CEO Nico Delvaux stated that the company is satisfied to see the PKI business find a committed long-term investor in Vista.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is anticipated to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2026. ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in access solutions with annual sales of SEK 152 billion.
