Assystem Secures UK Defence Ministry Engineering Framework Role

Global nuclear engineering firm Assystem has solidified its role within the UK's defence nuclear sector following its appointment to the Ministry of Defence's (MoD) Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) framework. This agreement grants Assystem access to bid for mission-critical MoD projects related to the nation's nuclear submarine program.

The company will provide expert engineering services across various domains, including mechanical and nuclear systems, propulsion, power distribution, structures, systems engineering, safety and environmental certification, and digital engineering. Assystem will also contribute through the integration of immersive virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

This selection for the EDP framework is a significant development, enabling Assystem to participate in tenders aimed at sustaining and advancing the UK's nuclear-powered submarine capabilities. The firm will operate as part of a consortium comprising industry leaders, focusing on enhancing the UK's defence readiness.

Assystem has previously expanded its presence within the UK's defence nuclear industry. The company was also named a principal partner in Rolls-Royce Submarines' Capability Assured Strategic Partnership (CASP) and is actively involved in MoD nuclear frameworks, such as the Nuclear Technical Support Provider (NTSP). With over 60 years of experience in nuclear infrastructure and systems, Assystem is strategically positioned to support the needs of the UK's defence industry.
