Assystem sells 5% stake in Framatome to EDF

Assystem S.A. announced on January 25, 2024, that it has sold its 5% stake in Framatome to EDF S.A. for €205 million. Assystem originally acquired the stake in December 2017 as a demonstration of support for the French nuclear industry.

The sale strengthens Assystem's position as an independent entity, deeply involved in the development of civil nuclear projects using various technologies across multiple countries. The company will continue its partnerships with French clients, notably EDF, for the development of future programs and the performance of existing nuclear power plants.

Assystem's Chairman and CEO, Dominique Louis, highlighted that the company's commitment to the nuclear industry remains total, built on over 55 years of close collaboration with strategic players. Assystem supports France's ambitious low-carbon energy development program.

EDF's Chairman and CEO, Luc Rémont, stated that the move simplifies Framatome's capital structure and aligns with EDF Group's commitment to ramp up its nuclear industry activities. EDF anticipates continuing its long-term partnership with Assystem.
