Assystem to deliver flood defence services for Environment Agency

Assystem has been appointed to the Environment Agency's Flood Risk and Asset Management (FRAM) Lot, a part of the Government Commercial Agency's Construction Professional Services 2 (CPS2) framework. This appointment will see the company contribute to England's £4.2 billion flood and coastal erosion risk management programme.

The company's role will involve providing specialist environmental services under Lot 9b, valued at £85 million. These services are aimed at improving the resilience, sustainability, and performance of critical flood infrastructure across England. Key areas of focus include Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), sustainability planning, flood risk management, climate resilience strategies, and ecological advisory services.

This appointment allows Assystem to strengthen its position as a partner for nationally significant infrastructure projects and expand its environmental management capabilities. Leveraging its expertise from sectors such as energy, transport, and water, the company aims to support the UK's long-term ambitions for flood and coastal resilience.

The contract also aligns with the government's £1.4 billion investment programme to repair and enhance flood defences, helping communities adapt to increasing climate-related risks. Assystem's involvement is expected to contribute to the longevity and effectiveness of flood defence assets nationwide.
