Assystem to Hire Over 500 for UK Decarbonisation Projects
Engineering and digital services firm Assystem plans to recruit over 500 new employees in the UK in 2024. The hiring drive supports the nation's decarbonisation efforts and aims to bolster energy independence.

Assystem, a global company specializing in engineering, project management, and digital services, announced its intention to hire more than 500 individuals for its UK operations in 2024. The company's UK headquarters are located in Blackburn.
The recruitment initiative is part of Assystem's role in delivering the UK's decarbonisation programme. The company is seeking motivated individuals eager to contribute to critical low-carbon energy projects across the nation, driven by the urgency of the energy transition.
These new positions will be distributed across Assystem's regional office network, which includes locations in Blackburn, Bristol, Culham, Derby, Glasgow, London, Sunderland, Warrington, and Westlakes. The firm is looking for a diverse range of professionals, including recent graduates, engineers, project managers, data scientists, and support staff in health & safety, HR, and finance.
The demand for new hires is partly fueled by the rapid need for a technical workforce to construct new nuclear power facilities, projected to supply 25% of the UK's energy by 2050. This expansion, alongside other low-carbon energy developments, is crucial for establishing the UK as a leader in low-carbon economy and energy independence.
Assystem is involved in significant projects such as Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C nuclear power stations, advanced and modular nuclear power development, and decommissioning work at Sellafield. Additionally, the company collaborates with infrastructure clients like Network Rail. Assystem's overarching mission is to accelerate the global energy transition.
