AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo Collaborate with Summit Therapeutics on Cancer Drug Evaluation
AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo will evaluate Datroway in combination with ivonescimab for multiple tumor types, including lung and breast cancers, through a new clinical collaboration with Summit Therapeutics.

AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo have entered into a clinical collaboration agreement with Summit Therapeutics to evaluate Datroway (datopotamab deruxtecan) in combination with ivonescimab across multiple tumor types. The initial focus includes lung and breast cancers.
This collaboration builds upon a previously announced clinical partnership between AstraZeneca and Summit aimed at advancing a leading antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) combination strategy in oncology. Datroway is an ADC designed to deliver cytotoxic payloads directly to cancer cells, while ivonescimab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor.
The agreement expands the ongoing clinical research efforts for both companies. The objective is to assess the efficacy and safety of this specific drug combination in patients with various types of cancer. Further studies will aim to identify patient populations who may benefit most from this therapeutic approach.
By combining these two investigational agents, AstraZeneca, Daiichi Sankyo, and Summit Therapeutics seek to explore potential new treatment avenues for patients with limited existing therapeutic options.
