London – Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has officially launched Evinova, a distinct health technology business. This new venture is established to accelerate innovation across the life sciences sector and improve the delivery of clinical trials, with the ultimate goal of enhancing patient experiences and health outcomes.
The healthcare industry is undergoing rapid digital transformation. AstraZeneca has previously invested in digital solutions to improve patient participation in clinical trials and speed up the delivery of new medicines. Evinova will leverage the company's scientific expertise alongside its digital and artificial intelligence capabilities to serve the broader healthcare community.
Evinova plans to offer existing technology solutions, already in use by AstraZeneca in 40 countries, to pharmaceutical, biotech, and contract research organizations (CROs). These solutions are designed to optimize clinical trial design and execution, potentially reducing development timelines and costs. The company will also explore opportunities in digital remote patient monitoring and digital therapeutics.
Global CROs Parexel and Fortrea have already entered into agreements to provide Evinova's digital health solutions to their respective client bases. Evinova is also collaborating with Accenture and Amazon Web Services to broaden industry adoption and expand its global reach.
