AstraZeneca licenses novel EGFR inhibitor for lung cancer
AstraZeneca has entered into an exclusive global license agreement with Dizal Pharmaceutical for Zegfrovy, a novel oral EGFR inhibitor for lung cancer treatment.

AstraZeneca has signed an exclusive global license agreement with Dizal Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd for Zegfrovy (sunvozertinib), a new oral irreversible epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor indicated for lung cancer patients. The drug targets a specific mutation in the EGFR gene.
Zegfrovy has received approval in the United States and China for treating lung cancer patients whose tumors possess exon 20 insertion mutations. This licensing deal is expected to enhance AstraZeneca’s existing portfolio of medicines focused on EGFR mutations.
The approvals in the US and China highlight Zegfrovy's potential for a patient population with previously limited therapeutic options. The agreement signifies a move by AstraZeneca to bolster its oncology pipeline through strategic licensing.
