Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca announced a 13% increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2026, with total revenue reaching $15.29 billion. This growth was driven by strong product sales, which increased by 12% on actual exchange rates, and a 29% rise in alliance revenue.

The company also reported positive readouts from four Phase III programmes for high-value new medicines, including tozorakimab for COPD and efzimfotase alfa for hypophosphatasia. These results support AstraZeneca's long-term strategic objectives. Additionally, the company secured 14 new approvals in major regions since the previous reporting period.

For the full year 2026, AstraZeneca confirmed its previously issued guidance. The company expects total revenue to increase by a mid-to-high single-digit percentage at constant exchange rates. Core earnings per share (Core EPS) are anticipated to grow by a low double-digit percentage.

Chief Executive Pascal Soriot stated that the company is progressing through its catalyst-rich period and is investing in its commercial capabilities for upcoming launches. He added that AstraZeneca remains on track to achieve its 2030 ambitions.
