AstraZeneca is presenting new data from its Vaccines & Immune Therapies portfolio at IDWeek 2024 in Los Angeles from October 16-19. The presentations focus on advancements in immunisations against infectious diseases with high unmet needs.

AstraZeneca is presenting new data across its Vaccines & Immune Therapies portfolio at IDWeek 2024, held in Los Angeles from October 16-19, 2024. The company will highlight advancements in immunisations against infectious diseases and share real-world evidence demonstrating the burden of respiratory viral infections and the ongoing need for protection.
The data includes information on Beyfortus (nirsevimab), a long-acting antibody for the prevention of RSV disease. Real-world evidence presented confirms Beyfortus's significant effectiveness in reducing RSV disease and hospitalizations in infants. Data also show Beyfortus does not interfere with RSV detection by rapid antigen tests, aiding accurate diagnosis.
Interim Phase II data for IVX-A12, an investigational combination virus-like particle vaccine candidate, will be presented. These findings indicate that IVX-A12 was well-tolerated and immunogenic against both RSV and hMPV in older adults aged 60 to 85 years.
Additionally, AstraZeneca will share preclinical data for AZD5148, an anti-toxin B neutralizing monoclonal antibody, which may provide protection against infections caused by Clostridioides difficile (C. diff). Data on the vaccine effectiveness of FluMist, a live attenuated influenza vaccine, will also be presented.
The presented data underscore the continuing need for protection against respiratory viral infections like RSV and hMPV, particularly in vulnerable populations, and the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on immunocompromised individuals.
