AstraZeneca targets $80 billion revenue by 2030
Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca has set an ambition to achieve $80 billion in total revenue by 2030, up from $45.8 billion in 2023. The growth is expected to be driven by its existing portfolios and the launch of 20 new medicines.

AstraZeneca has announced a new ambition to deliver $80 billion in total revenue by 2030, a significant increase from the $45.8 billion reported in 2023. This growth strategy hinges on expanding its existing oncology, biopharmaceuticals, and rare disease portfolios, alongside the planned launch of approximately 20 new medicines before the end of the decade.
The company intends to maintain its strategic commitment to research and development while simultaneously focusing on internal productivity. AstraZeneca aims to achieve a core operating margin in the mid-30s percentage range by 2026, with plans to sustain at least this level thereafter, influenced by portfolio evolution.
CEO Pascal Soriot stated, "Today AstraZeneca announces a new era of growth." He highlighted the achievement of the previous $45 billion revenue goal set a decade ago and expressed confidence that the company's pipeline supports sustained growth well beyond 2030.
AstraZeneca also reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability, aiming to decouple carbon emissions from revenue growth. The company has already reduced its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 68% from a 2015 baseline while growing revenue by 85%. The near-term goal is carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2026.
