Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca is set to unveil new data concerning its oncology pipeline at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, taking place from April 8-13, 2022. The company's participation will include 60 presentations, featuring five oral and three mini-oral sessions, highlighting its next wave of potential cancer medicines across immuno-oncology (IO), DNA Damage Response (DDR), and Antibody Drug Conjugate (ADC) platforms.
The data presented will showcase key findings from three potential new medicines, reflecting AstraZeneca's strategy to develop molecules that target cancer through diverse and complementary mechanisms, addressing key treatment challenges. This approach aims to attack cancer from multiple angles.
Among the presentations are the first clinical results for MEDI5752, a novel bispecific antibody designed to simultaneously target the PD-1 and CTLA-4 immune checkpoint proteins in solid tumors. This bispecific approach aims to combine the benefits of targeting these two checkpoints in a single molecule for potentially improved efficacy.
Further presentations will detail novel molecules targeting interleukin-12 (IL-12) and leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), alongside data on AZD5305, a next-generation PARP1-selective inhibitor, exploring its potential in combination therapies. Data on AZD8205, a new ADC targeting the B7-H4 protein, will also be shared.
