Astrotalk Achieves $1 Billion Valuation, Expands to E-commerce
Indian spiritual tech startup Astrotalk has achieved unicorn status with a $1 billion valuation following an ESOP buyback. The company is expanding into e-commerce and offline retail.

Astrotalk has become India's 133rd unicorn, reaching a $1 billion valuation through an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) buyback. The milestone was funded entirely by the company's operating profits, with over 100 employees participating in the share repurchase.
The company, primarily known for its astrology consultation services, has demonstrated significant financial growth. Its operating revenue nearly doubled year-over-year to ₹1,176 crore in FY25, while net profit rose 2.5 times to ₹250 crore, indicating strong operational performance.
Beyond consultations, Astrotalk has launched an e-commerce vertical, Astrotalk Store, selling items such as gemstones and religious accessories. This segment generated over ₹140 crore in operating revenue in its first year and has since crossed an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of ₹300 crore, establishing a second revenue stream.
Looking ahead, Astrotalk plans to expand its e-commerce business into offline retail with its first experiential store in Delhi NCR. The company is also developing an international e-commerce website, starting with the U.S. market, to cater to the Indian diaspora and establish a global brand presence.
