ASU and California Community Colleges Guarantee Admission for Transfer Students
Arizona State University (ASU) and the California Community Colleges system have established a partnership guaranteeing admission to ASU for all students who complete an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT).

Arizona State University (ASU) and California Community Colleges (CCC) have announced a statewide partnership that guarantees admission to ASU's bachelor's degree programs for students who earn an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) from a California community college. The agreement was formalized on October 8 at the ASU California Center in downtown Los Angeles.
The partnership streamlines the transfer process, ensuring that each ADT degree maps to multiple bachelor's degree pathways at ASU across nearly 100 academic programs. Graduates with an ADT can complete their bachelor's degree at ASU in two years, as the university will accept at least 60 semester units or 90 quarter units from eligible California community college coursework. The ADT will also satisfy ASU's lower-division general education requirements within the aligned pathways.
California Community Colleges comprise the largest college system in the nation, but the path to a bachelor's degree has historically presented uncertainties regarding course applicability and completion timelines. This agreement aims to provide ADT graduates with a clear and predictable route. ASU offers nearly 500 in-person and over 200 online bachelor's degree options accessible to these transfer students.
ASU intends to further align its degrees with corresponding ADT programs to meet California's projected demand for bachelor's degree holders by 2033, particularly in sectors like technology, healthcare, and social services.
