ASUR reports mixed October 2026 passenger traffic across regional hubs
Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste recorded passenger growth in South American markets during October, which was countered by declines in Mexico and Central America.

Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) has released its passenger traffic results for October 2026, highlighting a divergence in regional performance. The company observed growth in Puerto Rico at 4.8%, Colombia at 2.8%, Brazil at 0.9%, and Ecuador at 0.2%.
These gains were offset by traffic contractions in other key areas of operation. Mexico experienced a 5.4% decline in passenger volume, while Costa Rica and Curaçao recorded decreases of 6.6% and 3.5%, respectively.
The mixed results underscore the volatility currently impacting airport operations across the Latin American region. The performance in Mexico remains a critical indicator for the company given its concentration of assets in the country, while regional diversification efforts continue to be tested by local demand shifts.
