Asus has unveiled the Oxiis E250G1, an intelligent bike booster aimed at retrofitting standard bicycles. This device allows users to transform their existing bikes into electric-assisted cycles, extending their riding capabilities.
The Oxiis E250G1 features a 250W nominal and 500W peak power motor, integrated with an adaptive boost technology that adjusts assistance levels based on terrain, such as inclines. Users can select from three riding modes: Eco, optimized for range; Normal, for everyday use; and Sport, for demanding situations like climbing.
The unit includes a 158.4Wh removable battery, providing up to 50 km of range in Eco mode and about 10 km in Sport mode. The battery is rechargeable via a 100W USB Type-C Power Delivery charger and takes approximately two hours for a full charge. The entire booster unit, including the battery, weighs 3.7 kg.
Designed for versatility, the Oxiis E250G1 is compatible with city, road, and folding bikes. It supports wheel sizes from 16 to 29 inches, as well as 700C wheels, with a maximum tire width of 60mm. Installation involves the seat post, accommodating diameters from 25.4mm to 34.9mm. The booster's maximum speed is rated at 32 km/h, though local regulations may limit this to 25 km/h.
