The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) organized the KFood Challenge 2020, an event aimed at promoting Korean cuisine during a period of increased home cooking due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative, managed by aT Paris, began as an online competition and concluded with a live cook-off.

Participants were initially invited to share photos or videos of dishes prepared with Korean ingredients on their social media accounts. Following an initial selection, the top five contestants advanced to the final round. Each finalist received a surprise package containing six specific Korean ingredients, which they were tasked with using to create both a savory dish and a dessert.

The final competition featured a judging panel composed of culinary experts. Chef Damien Duquesne and author Luna Kyung, who specializes in Korean cuisine, evaluated the participants' creations. The challenge required contestants to demonstrate their culinary skills and creativity in preparing the dishes.

The KFood Challenge 2020 aimed to raise awareness of Korean food products and encourage consumers to experiment with them. The event provided a platform for sharing culinary experiences and fostering a greater appreciation for Korean food culture.
