Atlas Free Raises Over $1.6 Million to Combat Sex Trafficking
Anti-trafficking organization Atlas Free raised over $1.6 million at its annual gala, marking its most successful fundraising event to date.
Kirkland, WA-based Atlas Free, an organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking, announced it raised over $1.6 million at its 15th annual Freedom Gala. The event, held on September 19th at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, gathered individuals and business leaders united by the goal of ending sex trafficking.
The gala surpassed all previous fundraising records for the organization. The funds raised will support Atlas Free's global operations, which focus on holding perpetrators accountable, providing healing for survivors, and preventing future exploitation.
During the evening, recognition awards were presented to individuals making significant contributions to the fight against trafficking. Flip and Christie Johnson, owners of Purpose Boutique, were honored for their business's support, and survivor leader Faythe Kadona was recognized for her work in preventing the sexual exploitation of children and for championing legislation to clear survivors' criminal records.
Atlas Free operates a global network by partnering with local organizations, currently collaborating with 140 groups in 67 countries. The funds raised will facilitate the strategic expansion of this network, bolster leadership within partner organizations, and scale proven anti-trafficking programs.
