Atlas Power Partners acquires Maryland-based Boyland Electric

New York-based Atlas Power Partners has expanded its operations into the Mid-Atlantic region through the acquisition of Boyland Electric, an electrical contractor and generator dealer based in Laytonsville, Maryland. The move represents the third addition to the Atlas platform, following earlier acquisitions in Florida.

Founded in 1990, Boyland Electric serves customers across Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia. Founder Doug Boyland will remain in his role as President of the firm. According to David Fischer, CEO of Atlas Power Partners, the decision to acquire Boyland was driven by the firm's established reputation for service consistency and technical quality, which aligns with Atlas’s strategy to consolidate high-performing regional providers.

Atlas Power Partners was established in 2025 with the support of Sherman Street Capital. By integrating independent firms like Boyland Electric, Always On Generators, and Trademark Electric, the company aims to standardize service quality in a sector often criticized for high-pressure sales tactics. Atlas plans to continue pursuing partnerships with regional providers across the country to scale its service network.
