AT&T and Corning agree on fiber and cable supply deal exceeding $3 billion
AT&T announced a multi-year agreement with Corning for fiber optic and cable supply, valued at over $3 billion. The deal aims to support AT&T's network expansion and infrastructure development.

Telecommunications provider AT&T has entered into a multi-year supply agreement with Corning for fiber optic and cable products, valued at over $3 billion. The agreement is intended to provide the material foundation for AT&T's ongoing network connectivity expansion.
AT&T stated that fiber and terrestrial wireless networks will continue to be the backbone of its communication infrastructure. The company highlighted that its fiber internet service offers three times the bandwidth of satellite network services. Satellite services will be utilized as a supplementary solution to cover approximately 2% of remote areas in the United States that are difficult to reach with traditional network deployment.
The company noted that the average monthly data usage for AT&T fiber customers exceeds 1 terabyte, a fivefold increase since 2016. This usage is projected to reach 2 to 2.5 terabytes by the year 2030.
This agreement between AT&T and Corning represents a significant investment in telecommunications infrastructure, reflecting the growing demand for faster and more reliable network connections.
