AT&T Proof of Concept Labs Marks 30 Years of Technology Validation

AT&T's Proof of Concept (PoC) Labs is marking its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1996, the lab has served as a customer-focused environment for enterprises to test and validate emerging technologies before large-scale deployment.

The lab has assisted customers in evaluating solutions ranging from early IP networking to edge computing, 5G, and AI. AT&T experts work with over 500 businesses annually across diverse industries, including healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

For three decades, the AT&T PoC Labs have been a critical vehicle for helping customers move from possibility to execution," said Zee Hussain, SVP, Global Enterprise Solutions, AT&T Business. The lab has been integral to AT&T's role as a collaborator understanding and solving customer connectivity needs.

The lab's focus has evolved over time to meet technological advancements. Initially concentrating on IP networking and global enterprise connectivity via MPLS, the 2010s saw a shift towards cloud adoption and AT&T NetBond®. Today, the labs are testing private cellular networks, edge computing, and 5G technologies to support growing data demands and new applications.
