Attorney Tracy Paulsen Focuses on GLP-1 Medication-Related Vision Loss Litigation
Attorney Tracy Paulsen represents individuals diagnosed with NAION after using GLP-1 medications, as federal litigation expands. Patients allege manufacturers failed to warn of vision loss risks.

Massachusetts attorney Tracy Paulsen, founder of Rightful Legal, P.C., is representing individuals who have experienced serious vision loss and been diagnosed with non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) following the use of GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic and Wegovy. This action takes place amid expanding federal litigation.
The federal product liability litigation involves lawsuits alleging that drug manufacturers failed to adequately warn users about the potential risk of sudden and permanent vision loss. The manufacturers dispute that the medications have been proven to cause NAION. Paulsen has been closely monitoring the medical research and legal proceedings in this area.
Paulsen's work builds on her experience in serious injury and product liability matters, emphasizing the need for careful review of a patient's medication history, medical records, diagnosis, and evolving scientific and legal evidence. "NAION can be a devastating diagnosis because vision loss may occur suddenly and can permanently change virtually every aspect of a person's life," Paulsen stated.
Scientific research continues to examine the potential connection. A study published in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism indicated an increased risk of NAION with the initiation of GLP-1 receptor agonists compared to SGLT2 inhibitors, while noting the absolute increase in risk was small. Federal NAION liability cases have been centralized in MDL No. 3163 in U.S. District Court.
