Audi has commenced production of its A2 e-tron electric model at the Ingolstadt plant. The company aims for greater speed and efficiency in its manufacturing processes.

Automaker Audi has started the production of its A2 e-tron electric vehicle model at the Ingolstadt facility. Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder was present as the first A2 e-tron units rolled off the assembly line.
Audi reports that it has become more efficient with the production of the A2 e-tron. The development time for the vehicle has been shortened by 21 months, the range of variants and complexity have been significantly reduced, and the degree of automation has been increased. Existing equipment and production facilities are being utilized.
The A2 e-tron is designed to meet the needs of European customers, focusing on efficiency, intelligent technology, and everyday usability. The model's energy consumption is 12.8 kWh per 100 km according to WLTP standards, marking it as the most energy-efficient series-production model from the brand to date.
Inside, the car combines versatility with new digital services. Developed in Germany and manufactured in Ingolstadt, the A2 e-tron exemplifies Audi's renewal efforts in the electric vehicle sector. Order books are set to open in fall 2026, with initial deliveries scheduled to begin in December.
