Audi begins production of A2 e-tron in Ingolstadt

Audi has commenced mass production of the A2 e-tron at its Ingolstadt facility. The launch event was attended by Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder, marking the formal introduction of the new electric compact model to the assembly line.

The production cycle for the A2 e-tron reflects a shift in internal processes, with Audi reporting a 21-month reduction in development time. By simplifying the range of variants and increasing the level of automation within existing factory infrastructure, the company aims to reduce resource consumption and improve operational competitiveness.

CEO Gernot Döllner has stated that the model is designed to improve the practicality and efficiency of electric mobility for European consumers. The vehicle serves as a focal point in the company's broader effort to modernize its manufacturing footprint and vehicle lineup.
