Audi Concludes Formula E Participation

Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler officially concluded its participation in the Formula E electric racing series at the end of 2021. The German manufacturer had been involved for seven seasons, accumulating 14 race victories and 47 podium finishes.

Audi first partnered with the ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team in the inaugural 2014/2015 season. In 2017/2018, the company intensified its commitment by establishing a full factory entry. This move made Audi the first German manufacturer to compete in Formula E with a dedicated factory team.

Key achievements included driver Lucas di Grassi winning the championship in the 2016/2017 season and the team securing the teams' title in the 2017/2018 season. In the final season of 2021, which was elevated to FIA World Championship status, di Grassi secured another victory in Berlin.

Over its seven-year tenure, Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler amassed 1,380 championship points in 84 races. The team also supplied powertrain components to customer team Envision Virgin Racing, which achieved five additional race victories between seasons five and eight.
