Audi Expands Product Portfolio with New Electric Models, Reports Solid Fiscal Year 2023

German automaker Audi has introduced its new Q6 e-tron electric vehicle series, built on the company's new Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The announcement came alongside the company's fiscal year 2023 results, which showed growth in revenue and operating profit despite challenging economic conditions.

The Audi Group reported a revenue increase of 13.1 percent to 69.9 billion euros, with an operating profit of 6.3 billion euros. The Audi brand delivered 1.89 million cars to customers in 2023, a 17.4 percent increase year-over-year. Deliveries of fully electric vehicles saw a significant jump of 51 percent, reaching 178,429 units.

CEO Gernot Döllner stated that Audi is positioning itself for the future economically, technologically, and strategically. The Q6 e-tron is the first production model to utilize the PPE platform, developed in cooperation with Porsche. Audi plans to launch over 20 new models in 2024 and 2025.

Additionally, Audi is preparing to produce electric cars specifically for the Chinese market. The Audi FAW NEV Company Ltd. joint venture in Changchun will begin manufacturing these China-focused EVs from late 2024.

The company aims to accelerate its transformation to electric mobility and expand its model offerings. The PPE platform is designed to support a range of fully electric vehicles in the mid-size and luxury segments.
