Audi Introduces Full-Size Q9 SUV for North American Market

Audi has unveiled its new Q9 full-size SUV, marking the brand's first vehicle in this segment and positioning it at the top of its model range. The new model is engineered to meet the specific demands of the U.S. market, strengthening Audi's presence in the world's second-largest automotive market.

The Q9 is designed to offer significant interior space, a high-quality cabin, and advanced technology, including an adaptive cruise assist plus system with hands-free driving capabilities. It also features the largest panoramic sunroof ever offered by Audi. Initial deliveries of the Audi Q9 are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Audi CEO Gernot Döllner emphasized the Q9's customer-centric development for the U.S. "With the Audi Q9, we are expanding our portfolio to include our first large full-size SUV, intentionally developed to meet the needs of our customers in the U.S.," Döllner stated. Vito Paladino, President of Audi of America, added that the new model complements the brand's SUV offerings and supports its growth strategy in the United States.

The exterior of the Q9 makes a statement with its dimensions: 5.31 meters long, 2.21 meters wide (including mirrors), and 1.81 meters tall, with a wheelbase of 3.14 meters, making it Audi's largest vehicle to date. The interior comes standard with seven seats, with an optional six-seat configuration featuring individual, electrically adjustable seats in the second row for a business-class feel.

Technological highlights include automatic doors, controllable from multiple points and remotely via the myAudi app. A new feature is the illuminated panoramic roof, where the glass color adapts to the personalized ambient lighting. The vehicle's assistance systems allow drivers to remove their hands from the steering wheel at speeds up to 130 km/h (85 mph), with the system managing steering, acceleration, and braking.
