Audi Introduces New A5 Plug-in Hybrid Models
Audi has expanded its A5 lineup with two new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models. These vehicles offer an all-electric range of up to 110 kilometers.

Audi has introduced new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants for its A5 model range, available in both Avant and Sedan body styles. The new e-hybrid quattro models are engineered to combine driving dynamics with enhanced efficiency and an extended electric-only driving capability.
The primary appeal of these new PHEVs is their increased electric range, stated to be up to 110 kilometers on a full charge. This improvement is attributed to a new high-voltage battery with a approximately 45 percent higher capacity and an advanced energy recuperation system.
The A5 e-hybrid quattro models are offered in two power configurations: 220 kW and 270 kW. Powering these vehicles is a 2.0-liter TFSI engine paired with an electric motor. The more powerful 270 kW versions can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, while the 220 kW variants achieve this in 5.9 seconds.
The battery in the new models has a capacity of 25.9 kWh (20.7 kWh net) and supports AC charging up to 11 kW, allowing for a full charge in approximately 2.5 hours. Audi has also enhanced the regenerative braking system, with drivers able to adjust the intensity of energy recuperation via steering wheel-mounted paddles.
The hybrid management system in the new A5 plug-in hybrids is designed to optimize efficiency and flexibility. It automatically selects the most suitable operating strategy, utilizing route data from the navigation system. Drivers can choose between 'EV' mode for pure electric driving or 'hybrid' mode for combined power sources.
