Audi Launches New A6 Plug-in Hybrid Models

Audi has introduced two new plug-in hybrid variants for its A6 range: the A6 Avant e-hybrid quattro and the A6 Limousine e-hybrid quattro. Both models are available in two different power configurations, aiming to blend efficiency with performance.

The new plug-in hybrid models are equipped with a next-generation high-voltage battery, boasting an approximately 45 percent increase in capacity compared to the previous generation. This upgrade allows for an electric-only driving range of over 100 kilometers according to WLTP standards. The battery offers a net capacity of 20.7 kWh and supports AC charging up to 11 kW, enabling a full charge in just 2.5 hours.

Powering these models is a 2.0-liter TFSI engine combined with an electric motor. The top-tier version delivers a system output of 270 kW and 500 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds. A second power variant offers 220 kW and 450 Nm, achieving 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds. All variants have a top speed of 250 km/h.

Audi has also enhanced the vehicle's recuperation strategy and hybrid management system for improved efficiency. The system prioritizes electric driving, utilizing navigation data to optimize energy usage. Standard all-wheel steering enhances maneuverability at low speeds and stability at higher speeds, contributing to both driving comfort and dynamic performance.
