Ingolstadt – Audi has showcased its Nuvolari prototype, marking a rapid transition from racetrack concept to series production. The company announced on December 6, 2026, that the near-production vehicle was developed and unveiled in an accelerated timeline, demonstrating Audi's intent to increase its speed in development and innovation.
The Nuvolari is engineered to translate racing technology and performance into a road-legal vehicle. The first customer deliveries are anticipated in the first half of 2027, with order books opening for the European market in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Prototypes are currently undergoing rigorous testing worldwide under extreme conditions, including at renowned tracks like the Nürburgring and the Nardò proving ground. These evaluations aim to ensure high quality and optimize the vehicle's performance before it enters mass production.
The model is reported to incorporate Formula 1-inspired innovations, such as a high-performance hybrid powertrain, predictive quattro systems, active aerodynamics, and a new Audi Space Frame structure with carbon exterior elements.
