Audi RS e-tron GT performance: Brand Debuts Most Powerful Production Vehicle
Audi has unveiled its first all-electric RS performance model, the RS e-tron GT performance. The vehicle boasts a system output of up to 680 kW (925 hp).
Ingolstadt/Neckarsulm – Audi has launched its first fully electric RS performance model, the Audi RS e-tron GT performance. This four-door coupé is now the brand's most powerful production car, with a system output reaching up to 680 kilowatts, or 925 horsepower.
The new model integrates advanced drive systems and enhanced thermal management. Both the front and rear axles feature newly developed permanent-magnet synchronous motors. The rear-axle motor has been re-engineered to produce 415 kW (564 hp), while the front-axle motor delivers 252 kW (342 hp). Increased copper density in the windings and a new rotor design improve current conduction and reduce motor weight.
When utilizing Launch Control, the car's total output can reach the stated 680 kW. The power electronics on both the front and rear axles can now handle up to 600 amperes of current, a significant increase from previous variants. Audi has also boosted the braking recuperation capability to 400 kilowatts.
The RS e-tron GT performance features an adapted thermal management system to ensure consistent performance across all load ranges. This system maintains the battery and electric motors at optimal temperatures, even during high-output driving. The model also incorporates new battery cell chemistry, offering a gross capacity of 105 kWh (97 kWh net).
