Audi Starts Q6 e-tron Series Production in Ingolstadt
Audi has commenced series production of the all-electric Q6 e-tron series at its Ingolstadt headquarters in Germany. The production includes a new battery assembly facility.

Audi has begun series production of the all-electric Q6 e-tron series at its headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. The production, which started in late 2023, marks Audi's first high-volume, fully electric model series produced at the Ingolstadt site.
The Ingolstadt plant also features Audi's first battery assembly facility in Germany. This new facility, covering approximately 30,000 square meters, can assemble up to 1,000 high-voltage batteries per day for models based on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The plant employs 300 workers with an automation rate of nearly 90 percent.
Audi is implementing its 360factory production strategy, which integrates electric vehicle production into existing structures. This approach minimizes the need for new construction and allows for flexible production transformations. The new battery assembly facility is powered entirely by green electricity.
Electric motors for the Q6 e-tron series are sourced from Audi's largest powertrain plant in Győr, Hungary. The Ingolstadt facility is responsible for assembling the car bodies and the final assembly of the model series. Audi aims to convert all its production locations for electric mobility by the end of the decade.
