Audi to build first U.S. manufacturing plant in Georgia with $4 billion investment
Audi plans to invest $4 billion in a new production site in Georgia, aiming to create 4,500 jobs and expand its manufacturing footprint in North America.

Audi will establish its first production facility in the United States, located in Georgia. The project involves an investment of approximately $4 billion and is expected to create 4,500 jobs. With an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles, the plant is scheduled to begin construction in 2027, with production operations slated for the early 2030s.
This expansion follows a difficult nine-month financial period for the Audi Group, characterized by intensifying market competition and increased cost pressures. In response, the company is implementing efficiency measures across its global operations to preserve competitiveness. Establishing a manufacturing presence in North America is intended to provide a third pillar for Audi’s global production network, alongside its established operations in Europe and China.
Parallel to this long-term infrastructure investment, Audi is refreshing its product portfolio. The Q9 SUV series launches in November, followed by the introduction of the A2 e-tron in Europe in December. Additionally, Thomas Fuhr has been appointed CEO of Audi Formula Racing GmbH to manage the firm’s Formula 1 power unit development.
