Audi updates A6 allroad with wider body and hybrid powertrain

Audi has introduced the fifth generation of the A6 allroad, focusing on increased physical dimensions and expanded powertrain options. The vehicle features a body that is 11 centimeters wider than the standard A6 Avant, designed to accommodate larger wheels and provide a more robust profile for off-road performance.

For the first time in the model's history, the A6 allroad is available as a plug-in hybrid, in addition to the traditional V6 TDI engine. Both powertrain options integrate with the standard quattro all-wheel-drive system. Handling is managed by an adaptive air suspension system that offers adjustable ground clearance, paired with all-wheel steering to improve agility in tight spaces and stability at high speeds.

Inside, the vehicle centers on a digital cockpit featuring an MMI panoramic display, which combines instrument clusters and touch interfaces. The lighting system has also been updated, with digital Matrix LED headlights that allow for customizable daytime running light signatures and projection warnings for road hazards.

Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr stated that the model serves as an all-purpose vehicle designed for both daily road use and challenging terrain. The update aims to maintain the series' positioning as a flexible, high-capacity transport solution.
