Audi updates A6 Avant with hybrid powertrain
Audi has unveiled the new A6 Avant, featuring enhanced aerodynamics and a mild-hybrid powertrain designed to improve efficiency and performance.

Audi has introduced the latest iteration of its A6 Avant, a move intended to modernize its executive vehicle portfolio. The updated model achieves a drag coefficient of 0.25, which the company identifies as its most aerodynamic combustion-engine wagon to date, supported by redesigned cooling intakes and rear spoilers.
The vehicle introduces MHEV plus technology, a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that assists the 2.0-liter TDI and 3.0-liter TFSI engines. The system utilizes a powertrain generator to allow for low-speed electric driving, energy recovery during deceleration, and supplemental torque. Enhancements to the chassis, including optional adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering, aim to improve handling.
CEO Gernot Döllner described the rollout as a continuation of the brand's product initiative, aimed at maintaining competitiveness in the premium sector. The vehicle also integrates a revised digital cabin layout, featuring panoramic display screens and updated driver assistance interfaces.
