Aurania Resources Appoints Dr. Richard Spencer as President
Aurania Resources Ltd. has appointed Dr. Richard Spencer as its new President. The company's shareholders also approved the acquisition of the Lost Cities – Cutucu Project in Ecuador.
Aurania Resources Ltd. announced on May 29, 2017, the appointment of Dr. Richard Spencer as the company's new President, effective immediately. Spencer will oversee the company's financial and operational performance. Dr. Keith Barron will continue in his roles as CEO and Chairman of the Board.
Dr. Spencer, a PhD geologist, brings extensive experience in Ecuador, having previously led exploration teams that made significant discoveries, including the San Carlos, Mirador, and Panantza porphyries, and the Quimsacocha – Loma Larga deposit. He joined Aurania's Board of Directors on March 6, 2017.
At the Annual and Special Meeting held on May 26, 2017, shareholders approved the acquisition of EcuaSolidus S.A. This acquisition includes all rights to 42 mineral exploration licenses covering 207,764 hectares within the Cordillera de Cutucu in Ecuador, known as the Lost Cities – Cutucu Project.
Aurania plans to initiate an exploration program comprising airborne geophysics and regional stream silt sampling, along with geological reconnaissance. The company anticipates the closing of the EcuaSolidus S.A. acquisition shortly.
