Aurum PropTech to Acquire Housing.com for ₹458 Cr

Aurum PropTech, a publicly listed real estate technology company in India, announced its board has approved the acquisition of 100% of Locon Solutions, the owner of the Housing.com real estate marketplace. The transaction, valued at approximately ₹458.1 crore, will be conducted through a share swap, issuing nearly 1.98 crore new equity shares to the seller, REA India.

Upon completion, REA India's stake in Aurum PropTech will increase significantly from 5.54% to 24.9%, making it one of the largest shareholders. The deal is anticipated to close before September 30, 2026, contingent upon regulatory and shareholder approvals. Separately, Aurum PropTech plans to issue convertible warrants worth up to ₹118 crore to its promoter entity.

Housing.com reportedly receives over 5.8 crore monthly visitors and has more than 1.2 crore active users each month. Aurum PropTech aims to integrate Housing.com's marketplace with its existing transaction services to create an end-to-end technology stack covering the entire real estate lifecycle. The goal is to enhance efficiency and customer experience by connecting consumers, developers, and brokers on a unified platform for both rentals and sales.

This acquisition continues Aurum PropTech's strategy of consolidating its position in the Indian proptech sector. The company previously acquired PropTiger from REA last year and the rental startup NestAway in 2023. Housing.com has a history of significant investments and restructuring, including a merger with rival PropTiger in 2017 under REA Group's ownership.
