Österreichs Wanderdörfer has launched a new portal detailing winter hiking opportunities across its 44 member regions. The site offers information on guided tours, accommodation, and activities for winter travelers.

Österreichs Wanderdörfer, an association of Austrian hiking villages, has introduced a comprehensive winter hiking portal designed to guide visitors through its 44 member regions. The platform provides details on a variety of winter activities, aiming to enhance the experience for tourists seeking snow-covered landscapes and alpine adventures.
The portal serves as a central information hub, presenting curated winter specials and offers from across the participating regions. Users can find information on guided snowshoe treks in areas like the Bregenzerwald, husky and horse-drawn sleigh rides, full moon walks, and alpine wellness retreats. The site also lists 237 winter huts, ranging from après-ski locations to cozy mountain inns, offering diverse accommodation and hospitality options.
A special five-day package, "Winterwandern Bregenzerwald," is highlighted, featuring baggage transport to allow hikers to travel unburdened. Other featured regions include Salzburger Großarltal, which promotes challenging ski touring and ice climbing, and Schladming-Dachstein, offering cable car access for winter hikers exploring peaks like Planai and Dachstein without skis.
The portal also points to cultural experiences, such as following Ernest Hemingway's path in Montafon, and natural excursions in Kärnten's Dobratsch Nature Park. For a unique stay, Osttirol provides igloo accommodation and guided tours in the Hohe Tauern National Park, emphasizing a connection with nature.
