AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT: Volkswagen wins most in "Best Cars 2020" reader poll
In the AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT magazine's "Best Cars 2020" reader poll, Volkswagen was once again the most successful brand, securing four awards. Over 100,000 readers participated in the survey.
Stuttgart – Volkswagen emerged as the top brand in AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT magazine's annual "Best Cars 2020" reader poll, winning awards in four categories. This makes the German manufacturer the most decorated brand in the poll. Successful models for Volkswagen included the Up in the mini car segment, the Polo in the small car category, the Golf in the compact class, and the Multivan in the van segment.
A total of 102,974 readers and users participated in the survey. The poll featured 387 different car models across eleven distinct categories. This marked the 44th edition of the election, which is highly anticipated within the automotive industry.
Porsche secured two victories with its 911 model, winning both the sports car and convertible categories. Mercedes-Benz had success with its G-Class in the large SUV segment, while a Mercedes S-Class finished behind the Panamera in the luxury class. BMW also received two awards: the 3 Series triumphed in the mid-size category, and the 5 Series defended its top position in the upper mid-size segment.
Import brands also saw success, with Skoda and Renault each winning two awards in their respective import categories. Other notable winners included the Range Rover Evoque, Aston Martin Rapide S, and Mazda MX-5.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 6 in Stuttgart. AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT is an automotive magazine published by Motor Presse Stuttgart.
