AUTOCRYPT Establishes Public PKI System for Plug&Charge Services
AUTOCRYPT has established a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system for Plug&Charge (PnC) services in South Korea. The system enables automatic authentication for electric vehicles at compatible chargers.

SEOUL, South Korea โ October 2, 2026 โ AUTOCRYPT, a provider of Physical AI security solutions, announced the establishment of a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system for Plug&Charge (PnC) services in South Korea. This new framework allows diverse vehicle manufacturers and charging point operators (CPOs) to connect through a common authentication system.
The infrastructure has been validated with electric vehicles from six global automotive brands: Hyundai Motor, Kia, KG Mobility, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla. The system is built on a public Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) Root Certificate Authority (CA), enabling registered vehicles to automatically authenticate and charge at compatible chargers.
The initiative aims to reduce the need for OEMs and CPOs to manage separate authentication systems. It supports the broader deployment of PnC services across various vehicle and charging environments. AUTOCRYPT plans to expand this PKI infrastructure to more manufacturers and operators.
According to AUTOCRYPT, scalable PnC services require a trusted framework that securely connects vehicles, charging infrastructure, and service providers. The company views this infrastructure as crucial in the "Physical AI era" for enabling secure and automated charging.
