Autoliv has completed its acquisition of MCF Safety Belts S.r.l., an Italian firm specializing in restraint systems for commercial and specialty vehicles. The deal received final regulatory approval and marks a shift in Autoliv’s strategy to grow its presence in markets beyond passenger vehicles.

Headquartered near Turin, MCF Safety Belts employs roughly 60 people and generates approximately 10 million euros in annual sales. The company serves over 500 clients, providing both customized and standard seatbelt solutions. For Autoliv, the acquisition serves as a foundation for a new European hub focused on low-volume, high-variant production, allowing the company to better address the needs of off-road and niche commercial transport sectors.

Per Lindeberg, Vice President of Mobility Safety Solutions at Autoliv, noted that the integration provides faster access to new customer bases and geographic regions. Autoliv plans to retain the current management team and maintain the existing operating model to preserve the firm’s specialized agility while integrating it into the broader Autoliv supply chain and technological network.
