Autoliv acquires Italian specialist MCF Safety Belts
Automotive safety company Autoliv has completed the acquisition of Italy-based MCF Safety Belts to expand its footprint in the commercial and specialty vehicle markets.

Autoliv, a global provider of automotive safety systems, has finalized the acquisition of Italy’s MCF Safety Belts S.r.l. following regulatory approval. The transaction is part of the company's effort to grow its presence in markets adjacent to traditional passenger vehicle manufacturing.
Headquartered near Turin, MCF Safety Belts specializes in certified restraint systems for commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery, and specialty transport. The firm employs approximately 60 people and generates around 10 million euros in annual sales. Autoliv plans to utilize the acquisition to establish a specialized European hub for low-volume, high-variant production, allowing the company to serve smaller market segments with greater efficiency.
Autoliv management stated that the acquisition allows for cross-selling opportunities and the integration of MCF’s agile manufacturing model into its global supply chain. The existing management team at MCF is expected to remain with the business, which will continue to operate with its established focus on customer proximity and specialized engineering.
