AV-TEST: 14 Windows 11 Security Solutions Reviewed
A new comparison from AV-TEST Labs reviewed 14 security solutions for Windows 11, finding most offer robust protection, though some fell short.

A new comparative study by AV-TEST Labs, released in June 2026, assessed 14 security packages for Windows 11, revealing that while many offer strong defenses, some did not meet expectations.
The testing involved exposing the 14 security solutions to over 12,000 malware samples, evaluating their capabilities in protection, performance, and usability. The security vendors continuously update their systems to counter evolving threats, including those leveraging AI.
Over the course of the two-month test, eight security solutions successfully detected all malware samples without error. These included products from Avast, AVG, Bitdefender, ESET, F-Secure, McAfee, Norton, and TotalAV. Kaspersky and Microsoft achieved detection rates of 99.9%, with Avira scoring 99.7%.
While most solutions received full marks for protection, K7 Computing, Malwarebytes, and EnigmaSoft encountered issues in malware detection, leading to reduced scores in their evaluations.
