AV-TEST Analyzes Windows Threats and Protection Solutions
Cybersecurity firm AV-TEST regularly publishes test results and analyses concerning malware and security solutions for the Windows operating system.

Cybersecurity expert AV-TEST has released a series of analyses focused on threats and protections for the Windows operating system. The reports cover topics such as information stealers, ransomware, and other malware targeting Windows environments.
One recent analysis details how attackers exploit legitimate Windows tools, like the AutoIt scripting language, to distribute malicious software. This technique presents increased challenges for security software in detecting and preventing infections.
AV-TEST also provides recommendations for securing Windows 11 devices used in corporate settings. Tests conducted in June 2026 evaluated 16 security solutions designed to counter contemporary cyber threats, including supply chain attacks and AI-assisted intrusions.
The firm has also tested antivirus suites for consumers, highlighting the rapid development of malware and the necessity of maintaining up-to-date security measures to combat emerging threats.
